"Father Toads"
In Winter of 2023 I help build a salt kiln, which very unique firing process-adding salt directly at peak temperature over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. I liked the look of natural, unglazed clay bodies with this process; the build up of salt looked like the texture of a toad so I made some. The first toad was made as a gift for my father. When I was young my father would catch toads while on his work shifts and bring them home for me and my sister. I like to picture him, a large man, bent over coaxing a toad into a cup, then proceeding to drive around with it all day in his work truck.
The initial kiln firing date was set for around the holidays and I was preparing to gift my toad, however due to kiln complications it was delayed. My father unexpectedly passed away before I could hand him my toad.
I made a mold of the toad I created for my father; and am now able to replicate the one I made for him. It brings me a lot of joy through my grief when they resonate with people.
"Tales from the Crate"
A documentary made with the help of many people about the DIY house I lived in from 2016-2020. Thank you so much to all those who helped me make this happen- individual thank yous in credits. Many typeos due to my silly brain. The project grew more then expected and was executed in a two week window in preparation for the closing of the solo show "Correlation" in Oct 2025. Would love to do a part two if more are willing to share Crate experiences :) so much love xoxo
"Correlation" Exhibition @ Studio 116

Correlation was a special reflective show, where I featured a large proportion of artwork I have made throughout my life. The room was designed chronologically from early to present work. Lots of ceramics but also a section was dedicated to my old DIY home where I lived with my partner and hosted monthly music shows, art shows, and all kinds of events. The closing reception featured a film documentary about the home I created. Overall this show was a huge reflection and very special to me- graciously hosted in Studio 116. all photos by Byron Collins
"Displaced: The Resilience and Resurgence of Artist Affected by Hurricane Helen" @ Spartanburg Art Museum

"Displaced" was a show curated to host artist who experienced Hurricane Helene first hand. This show was extremely heavy but a special time to reflect and share our story through our work. Some of my work was in Art Garden AVL during the natural disaster and the gallery owners kindly dug through the ruins and returned to me what I thought was lost.
